The HD trailer on the birdemic website had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I mean, I couldn’t take it all in.

The uneven sound mix, the continuity, the godawful editing (well, not editing as such; more “we did this shot…then we did that shot…then we did this shot…lets put them all in order…), the absence of acting, the bird-peck eye makeup. There was just so much to absorb.

But the birds…my god, the birds. I almost wet myself with fear.

Aside: is there some kind of spooky reason you spell his name Gnuyen rather than Nguyen? Is it an elk in-joke? Some kind of moose reference I missed?

Do you suppose it made the cast and crew of Birdemic happy? “Hey guys, Birdemic website now up check it out” James Gnuyen probably wrote to them, and they did and I bet once they’d sort of managed to work it out they were excited.

“Let’s go guys, the Eagles are coming” What a stunning bit of dialogue.

I can imagine that when the filmmaker is walking up to the podium to receive his inevitable award, they’ll loop that bit of dialogue to repeat over and over and over. And the audience will be moved to a standing ovation.
