Robin Cooper calls an Ethiopian language TV show

I saw this Ethiopian language show on the crazy DBN channel (Sky 595) and just couldn’t resist phoning in. As ever, the hosts were charming, if a little confused.

Apologies for the sound being Nirvana-esque (i.e quiet, then loud)….

I think you'll find that the sound is Pixies-esque.

    Very, very funny though!

HAHA not even I'm not following what you are talking about. "Have you been to Hastings?"

"yes and now we're going to speak in our own language because this is the time when we speak in our own language." So charmingly polite but so devastatingly blunt.

Props to the shows producers; as if the male presenter's sideways confused glances weren't apparent enough... Bam! Close up of said sideways glances at 2:13, whilst litening to the 'man with the hat' anecdote.

    Well done Robin!

Lol, the guy looks confused before you even phone in. Just watch his face, especially as the phone rings. Wonderful. His face is perfect throughout.

Best moments: The mysterious hat. "It has this wonderful reservoir." The camera work. The presenter's attempts at keeping viewers... even if they don't speak the language. The presenter's wonderful face.
  • language is probably Amharic
  • McPraise be, Robin!
