From one ‘Popper’ to another…

I reckon this is just about the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. I mean, what’s not to like?

Where doth one beginneth?

Thanks again to mikederob for this excellent find. Wow!

The sheer joy of balloon popping is written all over his face…glad I don’t live next door to him though.

    How strangely arousing :)

I couldn’t watch.. and yet I couldn’t look away. Also.. why are there so many tears on my face?

And to think it only took 13 billion years of existence for the universe to come up with this.

If I wrote million, I meant billion. Damn.

    I…? But…? Errr….??? Ok! Hmm…! No….!

    What the hell!?!?

the more i watch it (and i have watched it a lot) the more i get to appreciate the smaller things like:

    1) the opening message – including the continuous unusual use of the word ‘off’
    2) the fact that this video is labelled ‘popped off a few balloons sitting’ which leaves the total number of ballons a mystery, makes it sound like he’s just done this on a whim and also hints at the existence of other techniques he may have for ‘popping off’ balloons
    3) his wonderful commentary
    4) the little bit of blue balloony shrapnel that hits the camera at 0.51
    5) some of the balloons are branded and others not, which suggests he’s opened more than one pack.
    6) the speed and efficiency with which he pops the first few, but then gradually gets slower as he appears to tire towards the end (the “big blue one” really took it out of him)
    7) that we dont even get to see him through to completion, there is at least one white balloon still unpopped when the credits roll

this isn’t even all the reasons why i like this video. thankyou robert popper and thank you @mikederob, but thank you most of all to YOU ‘iampopper2′ you jolly well made my day.

this man likes balloons too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwKJuxW-AZY

damn. I wish that I could hear more clearly his commentary.

I hope that it is nothing more than 'I am going to pop this one now. Yep. Popped that.'

I can't help but wonder what his neighbours think…gunfire possibly? Then they see him coming back from the party shop with bags full of balloons!

I was stuck for something to do with my Sunday, until now!

I've put this on Facebook about 5 minutes ago, and already I'm getting comments like 'why did I click that', 'why did you make me see this'. Well, I did put 'cannot be unseen' as the title of the link, so… But seriously this is super weird.

What's wrong with bingo and whist?

A relentless bout of popping. Even the tricky blue balloon couldn't test his steely resolve. Aspiring young poppers should study this closely. Textbook popping.
IMPORTANT NOTE : Due to static electricity concerns, you must always pop in your underpants.

  • Lewisthebass

    You missed:

    8) the text above the video warning that it “may not be suitable for minors”

    Crikes!

I could hear very little of his commentary but what I did hear was plenty special.

    “(POP!) Oh that's lovely…”

  • Gee

Does he inflate the balloons himself?

  • joomoo

Yes, but he deflates them first, according to what's on this link… first…..http://www.salefest.com.au/adrian_brien/2008_09_sep/adrian_brien_sep08.html

….you have to scroll down the page to see the item on the balloon man

  • joomoo

Or if you don't want to follow the link….here's what's on the Aussie car showroom site the link leads you to:
“If you are in our dealership late on a Saturday, you will probably have noticed a large bunch of walking balloons. Under that colourful bunch, you will find Richard Albury.

Each and every week, come rain, hail or shine, Richard arrives, takes off the balloons we have on display, unties the knots and deflates all of them, which is a lot of balloons – around 200!

Richard then catches the bus home and during the following week takes all the balloons into the Women and Children’s hospital for reuse.

We all appreciate his input and are certain the kids in hospital do too.

A big thanks to Richard, who is now in his 9th year of voluntary work.”

Fantastic – the subterfuge makes his popping exploits all the more delicious!
